By the Associated Press. CHICAGO, January 12.—Although Wheat was weak and lower early, with May down 1215 cents under the re- cent highest level, a strong rally came late today as a result of increased buy- ing on the decline. The rally was promoted by better demand here for wheat to be delivered at once, stormy | weather in Argentina and a reduced iestimate of the exportable surplus in Australia. The cash corn basis was also firmer late in the day, with some grades up 1 cent. Wheat closed irreguiar, % net lower to 1, net advance; corn firm; 14 to % up, and oats virtually unchanged.
