The new play, written by Ethelbert D. Hales, who also enacts an admirable characteriza- tion of “Dean Roberts, a clergyman, whose efforts to live as Christ lived and to preach Christianity as Christ preached it, led to his dismissal from thy and fashionable church in v York and to his subsequent es- tablishment of a mission to minister to the poor and down-and-out. Mission Mary” helps anew to re- veal the intensely dramatic quality of the New Testament. The author strikes at cant and hypocrisy, at the money changers who still occupy the temple.
