GITES REMBERSHIP (et For Gl & Few Conie at Ay GROWTH AS:-PROBLEM Board of Trade President Address at Dinner Honoring Shad Bake Committee Chairman. The great growth in membership of the Washington Board of Trade has become a problem for the officers of the organization to consider, accord- ing to Samuel J. Prescott, president of the board, in a short address at a dinner of the membership and shad bake committees at the Columbia Country Club last night in honor of Charles Pimper, chairman of the last shad bake committee. i Mr. Prescott declared that the or- ganization had grown so rapidly of late that proper accommodations for the members who attended the various functions and meetings had become a serious question. The limitation of membership was mentioned by Mr. Prescott, who predicted that 1,000 per- sons would desire to go on the next annual outing of the board. He highly praised Mr. Pimper for his efficient work in successfully han 1-|dling the 800 guests on the.last shad bake at Quantico. The combined com- mittees presented Mr. Pimper with an elaborate electric table lamp. In ac cepting the gift Mr. Pimper thanked the members of the two committees for thel co-operation, without which he said, the annual outing would have been impossible. E. C. Brandenburg, general counsel of the board, made the presentation. He also recited the growth of the organization and its activities in the past decade. The membership of the board s now approximately 2,600. It's unwise to boast of your gene alogy.
