And the do¢ passed on my letter to Prof. Donnerwetter, who compounds a hair restorer that will turn your whisk- ers blue; and by him my name was traded to all fakers old and jaded who had schemes for beating su ers of a surplus plunk or two. And they keep on sending, sending cir- culars and tracts unending, begging me to send two dollars if I cannot send them three; telling of their varbs and simples which will rid my map of pimples, telling of their wart removers, of their pills and boneset tea. When one faker has exhausted all his wiles and finds them frosted, he sends on my name and number to a faker down the street, and this new one writes me daily, telling carnestly, yet gayly, how his Per- sian corn destroyer will restore my wasted feet. The District Court of Appeals in an opinion by Justice Van Orsdel yesterday reversed the decree of the District Supreme Court and directed the storation of certain real estate to Mrs. Anna C. Gibson, which had been conveyed to her by her mother-in- law, in 1021, when . the latter was 72 years old. Before her death the elder woman brought suit to vacate the conveyance and the lower court found in her favor holding the deed to have been without considera- tion In reversing the decision Justice Van Orsdel points out that the record discloses that for 25 years during the lifetime of her husband, a son of Sarah Gibson, Mrs. Sarah Gibson had resided at their home and been cared for by Mrs. Anna C. Gibson. When the son died one of the other relatives asked the daughter-in-law to con- tinue the care of the mother, which she undertook to do, and the mother transferred the property to her in consideration thereof. When on the witness stand Mrs. Anna C. Gibson had been asked If the conveyance was not a gift and she had so characteriz- ed it, but the Appellate Court ex- presses the opinion that she probably meant there was no money passed The undertaking the of the mother-in-law is sufficient considera- tion for the deed, the Appellate Court holds. care - .
