By the Associated Pre GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.. November 14.—Federal agents investigating the possibility that a bomb wrecked the Grand Rapids main post office late Wednesday, taking a toll of three lives and injuring 13 persons, an- nounced last night that they had in thelr possession a threatening letter that might lead to some tangible clue to the methods used and to the par- tles Implicated, If a bomb was used. The letter was found by Knsign Harold McDonald of the Unlited States naval reserve force ih his automobile a short time before the explosion. Although for the most part the words on the letter are blurred and | jalmost illegible, the words “disaster” end “death” are quite clear. A man's picture accompanied the note, and | Federal agents are now scouring the clty in an attempt to place the man | under arrest. Federal agents investigating the ex- plosion are positive that it was caused by a bomb. Officlals of the local gas compa fter exhausting all tests, announced last evening that they not believe it possible that gas c the explosion. Twelve Injurcd Will Recover. Vos Annatyn, a_post office employe, |15 still in a critical condition and may |die, hospital authorities say. The {other 12 who were injured are ex- | vected to recover. Ernest A. Roth and Hermann Pet- tersch died within a few hours after the explosion. They were both postal jemployes. Dale Newhouse, the third ctim. died early this morning. Federal agents last night came into possession of a blackhand letter re- ceived Monday by Samuel Baucina demanding $5.000 on threat of dis- aster for himself and his family. The Italian sectlon of the city was be- ing scoured in an effort to get some clue to the sender of the letter, on | the theory that the bomb, if it was {a bomb that exploded in the post office, { might have been intended for Baueina. Two eagies of large proportions fought it to the death over a gigantic cel in the Atlantic Ocean not far from Cape Ma according to Capt Hurley vd of the fishing steamer Maud Capt.
