NEW D. C. CHURCH OPENS TOMORROW Branch of (Christian Science Parent Church of New Generation Formed. of a new Clristian to_be known as the ashington, D. C., Branch 1 of Chris- n Sciencé Parent Church of the New Generation, was announced to- day by William S. Campbell, the new church's first reader. Services will be held, beginning to- morrow, every Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, in the Church of Our Father, Thirteenth and L streets. The other officers of the church are Mrs, Mary B. Campbell, second reader; Mrs. Maude Sawyer Taylor, clerk, and Miss Hattle McGeorge, treasurer. The purpose of the new organiza- tion, according to its by-laws, is “the dvancement of the cause of Christian Science through the demonstration of the sevenfold system of spiritual evo.- lution contained in the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy as illustrated and taught by Annie C. Mrs. Clive Neville-Rolfe of London, an authority on social hygiene and eugenics, will give a lecture at the Congregational Church, Tenth G streets, night at o'clock, interest to those in touch with civic and social welfare work. Mrs. Rolfe is general secretary of the British National Council for Combating Venereal Diseases, and while in this country is the guest of the American Social Hygiene Asso- ciation. Conwell Will Speak Here on “Acres of Diamonds.” Dr. Russell H. Conwell will fecture on “Acres of Diamonds” in Metropoli- tan Methodist Church on next Wed- nesday night at 8 o'clock. Dr. Conwell has been giving this lecture for more than a half century, and has given it about 6,300 times. This Interesting man, who has been a captain in the civil war, lawyer, newspaper correspondent, preacher, educator, philanthropist and lecturer, is now past 80 vears of age. A year ago he was selected as the man who had done more for the city of Phila- delphia during that year than any other man. Phillips, rector of the Church of the Epiphany, will be the preacher at the people's even-, song service at Bethlehem Chapel of the National Cathedral tomorrow aft- ernoon at 4 o'clock. This is the first appearance of Dr. Phillips in the Cathedral pulpit since he took up his residence in Washington. The sermon will be broadcast, as usual, and the full Cathedral choir will sing. Alumni of Carolina School to Meet at Mount Vernon Church. A moving picture depicting life at Trinity College, Durham, N. Trinity College last Spring conferred a degree of doctor of divinity upon Rev. Dr. W. A. Lambeth, pastor of the church.
