Bishop Freeman of the Diocese of Washington, the church offices of the diocese and’ the church publicity of- fice have taken possession of the new diocesan center, which is being es- tablished at 1329 K street northwest. The building belongs to FEpiphany Parish, and was occupled by Bishop Freeman as his official residence while he was rector of that parish. By an arrangement with the vestry of Epiphany the bullding is now turned over to the diocesan authori- ties for use as an office building and as a meeting place for diocesan or- ganizations. The lower floor of the house is being fitted for use as a club, where both the clergymen and the laymen of the city can meet for social inter- course. The offices referred to are on the second floor. It is contemplated furnishing rooms on the third floor, where visiting clergymen may be pro- vided with accommodations for the night. Besides the bishop's office, the offices of the following organizations will be accommodated in the building: Committee on the church's program, the diocesan board of religious eda- cation, the committee on the Phillips foundation, the central register, the diocesan board of publicity, The Church Militant and the Layman Service As- sociatfon.
