Another large rental agency says that rents for apartments in con- verted houses are down about 10 per cent. One reason for the decline in Balti- more is sald to be the fact that there are large numbers of vacant apartments in newly constructed houses. Real estate men say there has not been a corresponding lowering of the rents of dwellings. They believe this is explained in part by the fact that the builders who erect two-story dwellings try to sell them rather than rent them. The bullding of the three- story dwelling has been almost abandoned in Baltimore, especlally the three-story brick dwelling. Some real estate men say that & two-story porch front house in an ordinarily real estate course to be conducted at the Y. M. C. A. had been completed. The course covers the fyndamentals of the real estate business and an ele- mental discussion of the subjects closely affillated with real estate practice. Various real estate men will outline the functions and operation of the different departments of a real estate office, including rents, sales. loans, insurance and building. These topics will be followed by discussions of the more technical subjects and the entire course covers in a rather comprehensive manner the whole field. After each lecture, an informal quiz will be conducted by the in- structor and during these quizzes a general forum discussion of the lec- ture will be participated in by the class. The complete outline and names of the lecturers follows: “Analysis of the Washington Real Estate Board is handled under the supervision of a special sisting of Morton J. Luchs, Lee D.
