COMMUNITY CHURCH " MAKES 1,000 CALLS Highlands Congregation Learns Religious Interests of Resi- dents in Its Territory. /The Highlands Community Church Rbs just completed a thousand calls in the vicinity of the church. About fifty members of the congregation took part in the visitations, going out in pairs and making ten-minute calls. Eighteen evenings were used. The “visitors” met in some home and went from there to call for about an hour and a-half in the immediate vicinity of that home; then returned ! with cards filled out, giving informa- tion about the religious interests of the homes visited. A social, with refreshments and a discussion of the results of that evening’'s work fol- lowed in each case. The territory covered was that bounded by Decatur street on the | south, Montague street on_ the north, | 16th street on the west and 7th street | on the east—a district including JUNIOR ORDER SERVICE TO BE HELD TOMORROW Patriotic Songs and Special Ser- mon Arranged at Fifth Baptist Church. Thomas Rhondda Williams of Erighton, England, announces that the British clergyman will arrive in this country April 20. He will bring with him a letter frbm Premier Mao- Donald, commissioning him to tell his audiences that one of the most im- portant missions of the labor party is to draw the people of America and Great Britain closer together, not for the purpose of sharing the wealth of the world, but that they may work to- gether in ‘establishing peace and good- will. The reports re- vealed that the past six months have been the best in the history of the school in attendance, offerings and developments all along the line. The school is sald to be the largest Sun- day school of the Disciples of Christ east of Ohio. Its group of mearly a hundred officers and teachers are planning for greater days. The aver- age attendance for the month of March has been 1,117. The church is engaged in an evan- | gelistic campaign with home forces, under the leadership of C. R. Stauffer, pastor.
