Gregg yesterday asked the District Supreme Court to permit her to foreclose an alleged lien of $45.000 for deferred purchase money on the automobilea beinz operated by the I, F. Gregg Auto and Taxi Serv- lce in rear of 1131 15th street north- west. Named as defendants are Adelbert D. Sumner and John W. Campbell, who are sald to have bought the business from Mrs. Gregg last June for $70,000, of which $25,000 w#s paid n cash. HELD FOR GRAND JURY. ‘Wilson Owens, Colored, Charged With Two Counts of Robbery. Wilson Owens, colored, of 441 New Jersey avenue, charged with two counts of robbery, was arraigned in Police Court yesterday, and held for the action of the grand jury on bonds of $10,000, Morris Berman of 925 D street and Catherine. Hardy of 1719 4th street were the complainants. It was al- leged that Owens held them up with & pistol at different times on the night of November 10. He was ar- rested by Detectives Jones and Jack- son. Rates May Be Altered on 127 Com- modities, Commission Says. The Tariff Commission reported to Congress yesterday that rate changes on 127 commodities had been applied for thus far under the flexible provisions of the tariff law. Thirty-four of the applications were for changes in rates on chemicals. Investigations into rate schedules ordered by the commission to date number thirty-three. i . _— The United States holds in reserve moxr’e than two-thirds of the world's gold. Justice Hitz of the District Supreme Court yesterday appointed Benjamin Margolius and Leroy R. Schulman as ancillary recelvers of the American Home Furnishers Corporations re- cently adjudged bankrupt in Norfolk, Va. The corporation has a branch in Washington known as Philip Levy & Co., 735 Tth street northwest, and a warehouse at 90 I, street northeast. The assets of the corporation in this city are valued at $100,000, and the an- ciliary receivers gave bond for that amount. Attorneys Peyser, Edelin & Poyser represent the local creditors of the company. Comedy Troupe Members Wear Fabrics Woven in Massachusetts. BOSTON, Mass., December 5—Gov. Cox and members of his staff tended the performance of a musi- cal comedy company, said to be the first ever to appear with principals and chorus costumed in fabrics of cotton. The fabrics were woven in New England mills.
