REVIVAL CAMPAIGN 2 Pastors of City Presbyterian Churches Visit Suburban Institutions. A campaign of constructive evangel- {sm has been in operation in the Washington City Presbytery for the past elght months, and while much of the time has been occupied in pre- Jiminary preparation the actual work of revival has been advancing to the @ of actual operation. The central object of the plan is that following the perfod of careful yreparation there shall be conducted a4 simultaneous revival in all of the churches of the presbytery. However, oWing to the road and weather con- ditions, which so vitally affect the suburban churches, the actual cam- paign is being conducted in these out- of-the-city churches during the fall season. In cach of these churches meetings are being conducted by some of the pastors of the city churches. Up to the present time many of these churches have passed through u sea- son of real spiritual awakening through the efforts of the visiting pastors and the splendid co-operation of the members and officials. Many converts have been registered, it is stated, but perhaps the chief source of satisfaction is in the fact that the #piritual life of the churches has been 8o signally energized. In some of these churches where no regular pastor has been engaged the results have been particularly ef- fective. In some cases these churches have been taken under the care of the brotherhood of the men's Bible «class of the church whose pastor had conducted the special meetings. These men’s organizations are furnishing the preaching and singing in the churches until such time as they shall call a regular pastor, In March, 1924, the other churches of the Washington City Presbytery will hold a simul- 1aneous campaign, when evangellstic pastors from other cities will conduct ihe services. As far as the suburban churches &rs concerned, many of the prob- Jems of a discouraging nature have Veen overcome and a new vision of 1he practical opportunities for the rural church has been wecured. The evangelistic committee operates from offices in the Church of the Covenant, which has been established as its Readquarters. RAISES PERTINENT QUERY. Rev. E.
