Noveryber 29.—The @ally average gross crude oil produc- tion of the United States decreased 26,000 barrels for the week ended No- vember 24, totaling 2,198,250 barrels, according to the weekly summary of | : the American Petroleum Institute. The daily average production east of the Rock mounwine was 1,439,950 barrels, a decrease of 18,350. Cali- fornia production was 758,300 barrels, & decrease of 7.700. Daily average imports of petroleum at principal ports rels, compared with previous week. November 28.—When the ilroad sold 0 iles south niles s district for $1 00 profit of 400 per cent on JOIN REVOLUTION FORECAST *IN REFINING METHODS GLENWOOD, Ark., November 29.— Forecast of a revolution in methods of refining heavy crude ofls and re- moving sulphur and wax contents is made as a resulf of tests here, at which representatives of various oil and refining interests were present. The process, known as the Me- Donald-Odom, removes sulphur and wax without heat or pressure, ac- cording to reports. It is asserted that the process can be used on a commercial scale at a cost much less than under present methods. Ac- cording to the inventors, 5,000 barrels of crude may be treated daily at an initial outlay of less than $5,000. Tests of samples from Nevada county, El Dorado and Smackover, in Arkansas, from Texas fields and Mexico have been made. YELLOW CAB LOSES SUIT. NEW YORK, November 29.—The Yellow Cab M acturing Company lost its suit for an injunction to pre- vent the Checher Cab Manufacturing Company from producing and selling taxicabs bearing a checkered border design. Supreme Court Justice Daniel F. Cohalon, who denfed the application for an injunction, held that the Check- er Cab Company had proved priority of use of the trademark in this state. Upholding the counter claim of the Checker concern asking damages for infringement, he enjo the Yellow Cab Company from unfair competition with the business of its rival.
