BALTIMORE, November 28.—With record-breaking cargoes of turkeys coming in on bay steamers, the price of the Thanksgiving gobbler took a sharp drop in the wholesale market this morning. On the wharves the prices ranged from 23 cents to 40 cents a pound. With other large cargoes coming in later today, a still bigger drop in price was predicted by commission men. Approximately 1500 crates, or 10, 000 turkeys, were brought here ¥ terday from eastern shore and V nia points. The Middlesex. from the Rappahannock river for the Maryland. Delaware and Virginia ilway, brought in the largest cargo, having 800 crates aboard. Such a heavy rush of turkeys came in from the Patuxent river that the Maryland, Delaware and Virginia rallway was forced to add another boat, the Pocomoke, to the run. The boats from the Patuxent river route also brought large cargoes, mostly of turkeys, ducks, geese, chickens and oysters, and are being readily disposed of to Thanksgiving purchasers, Denver Supply Heavy. DENVER, Colo., November 28 —The Thankegiving turkey supply here is almost _double that of last yvear, and prices range around 45 cents a pound retail. Commission men and retailer: are doing a large business, and it is expected half a million pounds of turkey will have been sold by Thure- day morning. Ducks, geese and chickens also are in good demand. Prices Prevailing in Texas. HOUSTON, November 28—Turkeys are selling in_this market at 25 to 30 cents a pound on the hoof and 35 to 40 dressed. Good supply is in evi- dence. Retall Price, 45 Cents. SEATTLE. November 28.—There is a more than abundant supply of tur- keys here, with prime grain-fed birds bringing growers 31 to 33 cents a pound. The retall price is 45 cents, as compared with 60 last year, and the jobbing price is 35 cents a pound. 150 Toms Arrive by Express. SAN FRANCISCO, November 28.— Receipts of dressed turkeys have been extremely heavy here, over 150 tons having been recelved by early ex- press.
