One woman and six men, all colored, were placed on trial yesterday before Justice Bailey and a jury in Criminal Diviston 1 to_answer an indictment for conspiracy. They are alleged to ‘have formed un agreement to violate the na- tional prohibition act through the eale of bootleg whisky. The indictment in this case is the first to be returned in this district in the effort of the en- forcement unit to secure penitentiary sentences for bootleggers.
