Hay- cock, assistant postmaster, out of his on_his ballot. The officials would make no state- ments officially about the matter, but it is understood that unoflicially "they had a few things to say today about voters who would call at such hours. Several - months ago Postmaster Mooney wrote to the attorney gencral of the state of Virginia, stating that the law of the state requiring absent voters to get the attesting signature of a postmaster worked hardship upon postal officlals. He suggested that the law be amended to permit of notary public signature. DEATH REPORT MISTAKE.’ William L. Wells Still Lives in North. Carolina.
