Special Dispateh to The Star. ALEXANDRIA, Va. October Dr. W. T. Shepherd, forty-nine years old of Washington, was held here Sat- urday for the action of the grand jury after he had been arrested early this morning charged Wwith drunkenness. One gill of what the police sald was corn whisky was found in the auto- mobile. The car was confiscated. He collapsed at the hearing. Three companions, who were &ar- rested at the same time, were re- leased. _They. gave their names a: A. J. McFarland, forty-four year old; Frederick A. McGrath, thirty four years old, and Herbert Charles Galton, twenty-six years old, all of Washington. The four men were arrested when they. drove up to a King street resi- dence about:3 a. m.. The officer mak- ing the arrest testifled that they were drunk. A glll of whisky was found in the car when it was brought to headquarters. Dr. Shepherd was released this aft- ernoon when he furnighed bond fixed in the amount of $250. RUMANIA LIFTS JEWS’ BAN.
