~THE - EVENING, STAR, WASHINGTON, D. C. TUESDAY, AUGUST 2I, 1923. . Later Prices, 40 to *55 A Deposit of 25% Will Hold Your Coat Until No_py. 1 Lately the papers have been full of coal, much like Pittsburgh. There are several e reasons for this. A strike was impending, and if people didn’t coal up they would cool - down or freeze tight next winter. Also, coal is cheaper in summer, when mines are -~ slack, demand slight, and freight light. Long-headed people buy coal in summer. It is the thrifty, fore- sightful thing to do. Such people get on in the world. For several years we have been holding a summer sale of Winter Overcoats. - They are very successful sales. They are successful because the majority of the men in the ™ world, hardheaded business men, we should say, are not only sharp-sighted but far- - seeing also. Now, the uniderlying*économic cayses in each case are identical. It is oulyv in effeet . ; that variation occurs. Coal in one instance, coats in the other--at savings!. - We bought the fabrics for these coats last March, under price. .They were made up in summer, an off season, at concessions. We, in order to pile up volume, are selling them at the slenderest pos- sible margin. That is why you can'l_)l'xy- overcoats at $31.50, now, in August, that will be sold at £ S LS to $55 later. i There are 500 of these coats, and they are amazingly fine. A ‘point'of importance is that they are from the regular Hecht Co. tailors. That ¢+ makes assurance regarding their quality and character doubly sure. Choose from many models—each one an authentic fall and winter fashion. Some;_ et of them are sketched herewith. ; Great ulsters, motor coats, ulsterettes, box coats, Chesterfields. and new, form-fitting models in rich, heavy fabrics---in mixtures, " plaids and plain colors.
