Two observation seaplanes of the UO-1 type, and catapaults, are to be mounted on the scout cruiser Mil- waukee, the bureau of aeronautics announced yesterday. The announce- ment sald that this action is in line with the policy to equip all battleships and cruisers, except coal burners, with scouting and observation planes that can be shot off the decks of the larger ships and return to their base by landing aleng side and being hauled aboard. Three battleships and one crulser now possess aviation unjts aboard. They are the Maryland, Oklahoma and Nevada, and the Richmond, which is now enroute for Europe.
