Clyde Brown Made As- sistant at St. Stephen’s Church Here. Rev. Clyde Brown has been ap- pointed assistant minister at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and is now actively engaged in his duties there. Mr. Brown was born in Brooklyn, N. Y., May 28, 1891. He received his high school and early education at Freeport, N. Y., and later attended St. Stephen’s College, on the Hudson. He graduated from Northwestern College at Evanston, Ill. At the out- break of the war he entered the Navy as a petty officer and served on one of the battleships doing duty in the North sea. After the war he served in the merchant marine and made a crutse to Japan, China and the Phillp- pine and Hawaltan Islands. He camé to Washington in 1920 and later went to Hyattsville. He gradu- ated from the Virginia Theological {Seminary and was ordained last year by Bishop Harding. He was made a priest on Trinity Sunday. this year, by Bishop Davenport of Easton. and the following Friday arrived at St Stephen’s Church as assistant minis- ter. A coincidence in this was that Rev. Dr. George F. Dudley. who cele- brated his thirtieth anniversary at the church last week, was made a priest on Trinity Sunday and the following Friday arrived at the church as minister. RETREAT FOR WOMEN. Spiritual Services to Be Held at Mount Carmel Tomorrow. The Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement are to hold a one-day spiritual retreat for women tomor- row, directed by the Carmelite Fathers at the Mount Carmel National Retreat House, 200 T street mortheast.
