The United States government will B its share In the international move- nent to combat the traffic in women &nd children, according to the opin- fon expressed by Miss Grace Abbott, head of the children’s bureau of the Department of Labor, in an address on this evil at the University Wom- en's Association, 634 I street Saturday. She sald this nation is honor bound %o Join with the other leading coun- tries of the world in a well organized plan to reduce this traffic as far as possible. In the opinion of the delegates, she said_the countries interested should give inore attention to this grave social problem and should lend every assistance in the fight against it. ~She said the con- ference resulted in a well organized international investigation, which is expected to bring out facts that will aid greatly in the general movement. Dr. Alics Solomon of Germany, who also addressed Saturday night's meet- ing, gave an interesting word plcture of present-day conditions in her coun- try.
