Lifelong Resident of District Suc- cumbs to Heart Disease. Dr. Joseph N. Gardner, sixty-three years old, a lifelong resident of the District, died at his home, 1010 10th street northwest, Thursday of heart disease, after an illness covering a number of months. Funeral services were held at St, Patrick’s Catholic Church, 10th and G west, Saturday. Mass was celebrated by Mgr. E. J. Wunder of Cumberland, Md., his brother-in-law. . Assisting him were Revs. Hurney and Cart- wright of St. Patrick’s. The Elks con- |ducted services at the home. |_Dr. Gardner was born in this city February 24, 1860, a_son of the late Dr. -Jacob Brown Gardner. a sur- geon in the Union Army, and Rosa Manning Gardner.
