James Thurman Smith, former resi- dent of Washington and native of Cuipepper, Va., died at his home at 630 Cokesbury avenue, Baltimore, last night. following a short illness from double_pneumonia. Mr. Smith was in his forty-first year. A number of years ago he was attached to the staff of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, and it was in Washington that he met the woman he married. He was stricken Sunday with double pneumonia and steadily declined. He was well known in Washington before going to Baltimore, where he took a position with the Prudential Life Insurance, Company.
