HE Secretary of State and Mrs. Hughes had with them for Christmas their son-in- law and daughter, Mr- and Mre. Chancey Lockhart Waddell of New York, and their younger daugh- ter, Miss Elizabeth Hughes. Mr. and Mrs. Waddell left last evening for their home in New York and Miss Hughes will remain with her parents through the winter. The Secretary of the Treasury, Mr. Mellon, is expected to return to his apartment at 1785 Massachusetts ave- nue the latter part of the week. His daughter, Miss Mellon, who accom- | panied him to Pittsburgh for Christ- mas, will also return in time for a reception Monday afternoon from 3 to 6 o'clock.
