The average daily movement of fifty-six representative roads for the week ended September 6 totaled 13,302 cars, of which 9,262 cars were loaded. The week ended semembor 13 showed 13,898 cars moved, of which 9,749 were loaded, while ll 457 cars moved during the week ‘ended eptember 20, 10,096 of these being loaded. During the same period in 1920, the average dally movement of these same fifty-five railroads totaled }4.5:9‘ cars, of which 10,612 were loaded. BALDWIN WORKS BUSY. Figures appearing in the flnancial district show that the Baldwin Loco- motive Works has unfilled orders on its books aggregating about $37,000.- 000 in value, and that the plants are now employing about 11,000 men and operating at approximately 60 per cent of capacity.
