Dr. Sharp served during the world | war as a captain in the Medical Corps. He went to France in July, 1913, as a member of the Moblle Oper- ating Cnit, No. 1, organized by Percy i Moncure, but after its arrival in France the unit was broken up into operating teams and his team wat, assigned to the 1st Army. He did first_aid surgical work at the fron until the end of the war and wes on_duty in hospitals in France until February, 1319, when he retyrned to | the United States. During the war Miss Wood was a member of the first unit of farmereties organized in this country. At the request of the gov- ernment twelve Vassar students re- mained on the college farm in the summer of 1917 to test out the possi- bilities of replacing man farm work- ers by young women during the war. | As a result of the splendid work ac- complished by this unit large bodies of woman farm workers were organ- ized all over the country in 1913 for active war service to replace the Young men sent to France. Miss Wood is a granddaughter of the late Representative Ebenezer J. Hill of Norwalk, Conn, who repre- sented that district in Congress for twenty-two years. Col. and Mrs. Edward B.
