Paul A. Bazaar of Roches- ter, N. Y., has been appointed to 2 position in the Veterans' Bureau in that city. But there is an interesting story connected with the incident, for Uit required the active interest of! President Harding to make possible the appointment, because Bazaar has boen rated as “totally disabled.” When he put in his application for the po- sition he was turned down by the Civil Service Commission on the ground of his disability. The news of the appointment was received with a good deal of interest in this city, for Bazaar was for mauy months a pa- ||| tient at Walter Reed Hospital and made many friends in this city. After hearing the tes- timony, in which Mrs. Pugh stated that she had been subjected to cruel treatment from her husband for the past three years, Judge Mattingly said that the present case, in his opinion, warranted an absolute divorce, but that under the existing laws it could not be granted. “Conditions in Alexandria are bad, but would be improved if the old laws which prevailed in the District regarding divorces were put back on the book: The defendant was placed on proba- tion. 8 Bad Breath Dr. Edwards’ Olive Tablets Get at the Cause and Remove It.
