E. CROSS. ' Blood Traustusion Fails to Save | Inventor and Manufacturer. Jay E. Cross, an inventor and manu- facturer, died at Washington Sani-j tarium 'yesterday after undergoing two surgical operations and resorting to & blood transfusion operation, in which his son Paul gave of his biood as a last effort to save his life. He died & few minutes after the last at-| tempt failed. Ho was forty-nine years old. Coming to Takoma Park about five | and one half years ago, from South | Lancaster, Mass, Mr. Crofs established & manufacturing business on the rear of his residential lot. He also enguged in 1 real estato operations in Takoma Park, and was a director of the Tukoma Park Bank. He Is survived by his widow, who was Miss Jennie lverson; three 'sons, Paul, Elmer and Leon Cross, and two sisters, Mrs. H. B. Rogers and Mrs. Charles Presnell, all of whom reside in Takoma Park. Mrs. Adolph Myer, widow of Gen Adolph Myer, former representative in Congress from Louislana, died this morning at her apartment in Willard Court. Mrs. Myer had ben ill about a week and died from pneumonia. Mrs. Myer was born in _Illinois about seventy years ago. She had been a resident of this city for more than thirty years. Much of this time she held a prominent position in ‘Washington society, and her death was.a shock to her many friends here. Surviving her is a daughter, Mrs. Louise M. Smith of this city.
