After lunch the party will inspect the $3.000,000 modern power plant and there wili be a demonstration of ar- tillery firing of gas shells. In the evening motion pictures will be shown and a dance given at the Otficers’ Club. Sunday will be given to church services. tennis, horseback riding. trap shooting. swimming and other sports, with a band concert in the afternoon. Monday morning there will be a full demonstration of chemical warfare at close range. including hand grenades. bombs. use of Stokes mortars and Livens projectors. and airplane bombs. Those who desire to do so may ness the demonstration from a bomb- proof s'ecl tower. The party will return to Washington Tuesday morning. Among the guest will be members of the press galleries of Congress. the Natlonal Press Club and the loc ress, magazine writers and others h their families. CAMP HARDING BEGINS ITS FINAL ENROLLMENT Lligible Boys Desiring Period of: Training Invited to Make Ap- plication at Once. Camp Harding, the boys' training <amp on Conduit road near the Dis- trict line. has started its final en- ro!lment of boys for the camp, which will close September 17. Capt. -H. D. F. Long. in charge,-states that eligible boys between the ages of twelve and seventeen years will be admitted for camp training for one week or more. Already there are between thirty and forty boys who have been com- bining the advantages of military | camp training with a pleasant vaca- tion on the heights of the Potomac. It is specially desired to increase this number to at least a handred during thesnext few days. and to have that hundred remain. if possfble, for the entire time until the camp closes. While much may be gained in health and in general training by a week's stay. full and lasting benefits gen- erally require a longer: time., The camp is equipped with: showers and baths. and has the advantage denied many in being supplied With Potomac water. through the regulgr city serv- ice, as well as the best of sewerage. The tents are pitched on the border of a grove of tall shade trees anfl the camp grounds are clean and in excellent condition for drills and the sports which form a part of its course.
