Va., August 29. — A movement will be launched here within a few days to raise a fund by popular subscription to erect {2 monument over the graves of Mr. and Mrs. John Bryan, the grandpar- ents of William Jennings Bryan, on the Arrington farm, about three miles from Point Pleasant. Mayor John J. Dower received a letter from the commoner, responding to an inquiry giving his consent to Mr. Dower's propos#l to have the citizens of this city subscribe to the jfund. Mr. Bryan insisted, however, ‘that he be permitted to defray at ;least half of the expense. He said he { greatly appreciated the expressed de- isire of the people of this community |to honor his ancestors, but.he felt that he wanted to share the respon- sibility with them. Mr. Dower announced he would im- imediately appoint a committee Of citizens to perfect plans for the rais- ing of the fund. The men will be se- lected without regard to their politi- cal affiliations, as the matter will be strictly non-partisan. It is understood the unveiling of the monument will be attended by consid- erable ceremony. SOCIALISTS EXPECT VOTE IN NEW YORK TO GROW Use it in the Morning and walk all day in comfort.
