Irwin, white, rector of an Episcopal Church in the negro quarter, who was kidnapped, tarred and feathered by un- identified ‘men Sunday night, will be made by the Right Rev. Cameron Mann, Bishop of Florida, who is expected to reach here today. Other Espicopal clergymen in the city telegraphed the bishop, asking him to look into the situation here, as Irwin is a missionary serving under appointment by the bishop. Something over a year ago an organi- zation for former service men lodged with the bishop complaints against Irwin, theso being based on alleged un- patriotic utterances made by the preach- er, who is a British subject A hearing lasting several days was conducted at that time by the bishop, but he held that the charges were without foundation and declined to remove Irwin.
