Small, builder, reports the sale of the entire row of fifteen homes erected by him this spring on Taylor street, between 13th and 14th streets. These houses are of light brick con- struction and have eight large rooms and bath. The yards are 22 feet wide. Mr. Small now has under construc- | tion ‘seven homes of similar design. i The advisory tax committee of the National Lumber Manufacturers' As- sociation will meet June 17, in Chi- ago. ] | Secondsof the series of luncheon- meetings planned by the Washington | Real Estate Board as a permanent in- !stitution will be held Thursday at 1 |o‘clm:k. at the Lafayette Hotel, 16th land I streets northwest. As a result of a referendum con- ducted at the initial luncheon two | weeks ago it has been decided to hold {the midday meetings twice a month, jon Thursdays. An innovation which will combine tusiness with pleasure will be Inau- gurated at the luncheon Thursday, when several realtors, it is under- stood, will go prepared to submit of- ferings of exclusive listings of real estate for the information of fellow realtors. Others will make known wants of their offices and clients, with a view to giving realty offices repre- sented at the meeting an opportunity to fill these needs. Plan Not New. ‘This plan of co-operation between realtors in the conduct of their busi- ness is not new to a number of the larger cities. Application of the idea here was first broached publicly at the initial luncheon of the board by John L. Weaver and was favorably received by those present. It is ex- pected that this exchange of wants and offerings in open meeting will encourage fair competition and _fa- cilitate real estate transactions in ‘Washington. Several real estate boards have es- tablished a multiple.listing system by which properties for sale or rent are placed on record for perusal of boarf members. It is considered likely that the “oral listing”" plan to be instituted next week may lead later to the adop- tion of the multiple listing system. The luncheon Thursday has been 8o arranged that it will consume not more than an hour in order not to conflict with the operation of realty offices. It ig. understood that Alfred S. Gardiner, ‘chairman of the conven- tion committee, will report on the final plans for attendance of local realtors at the annual convention of the National Association of Real Es- tate Boards in Chicago July 12 to 15 Announce Conferences. Announcement of a series of twenty education conferences to be held at the convention In the forenoons of July 13 and 14 was recelved in Wash- ington today from Chicago. These conferences, presided over by the ten vice presidents of the association, will be notebook-and-pencil affairs and will be attended by realtors, spe- cialists in the particular subject as- signed for discussion, statesmen, economists, financiers and others in- terested. The conferences and the leaders are: | Appraisals, Raymond T. Cragin, Cleve- land; taxation, C. Moffett, Minne- i apolis; rentals, I, E. Macomber, To- i ledo; housing, F. G. Many realtors, their families and their friends, will arrive in Chicago, Monday, the day previous to the open- ing of the convention. The Chicago board has arranged a stag affair at the Auditorium, and an entertainment for the women in the gold room of the Congress Hotel Monday night for the early arrivals.
