OMAHA, Neb., April Seward, Chilicothe, Ohio, wanted in Toledo to answer charges of killing two detectives following a hold-up, jumped from the fourth story of aj hotel here when detectives went to his room to arrest him. Thompson Brown, prominent lo real estate man and active in civic affairs, is dead here. He served with Park ers’ artillery, taking part in thirteen battles and being severely injured once. Oldest Catholic Prelate Dies. OGDENSBURG, N. Y.—The Rt Rev. Henry Gabriels, bishop of the Roman Catholic diocese of Ogdens- burg, died last night. He was eighty-four vears old and was said to be the oldest prelate in the country | since the death of Cardinal Gibbons. Giant Meteor Showers Sparks. MACON, Ga.—A giant meteor, tra eling through the sky in a northerl direction, was observed ‘here last night. People who saw the meteor say it looked like a great ball of fire, with a greenish or bluish tinge and it threw off showers of sparks that were visible through a cloudy Motor Ship Burns at Sea. SEATTLE, Wash.—The motor ship Kamchatku was destroyed by fire at sea near Pirate cove, Alaska, the night of April 15, according to a wireless message from the master of the boat received here by the Hibbard Swenson Company, o0p- erators of the vessel.
