In the parable of the talents, which intro- duced the word talent into our speech and tongue, the relation that Christ's disciples sustain to Him s emphasized in a life of service. Last week's study forced home the character of those who wait for the Lord, while this one presents in an ancient picture the conduct of the waiting church in its forth in an ancient coin, the talent; in {ancient class distinctions of the mas- ter and his slaves, and in th an- cient customs of the east of hiding | money in the earth for safe keeping, yet the lesson to be drawn from this !ancient portrait is full of perpetual graduation from Swarthmore College, he|and modern application, through its requirements of a life of service.
