A sarcopliagus for the widow of General Grant was placed in the tomb on Tuesday. It is like the one in which the body of the former President rests. Both were cut from the quarries at Montello, Wis. i ‘When the big grenite receptacle of the body of General Grant was firiished ; similar sarcophagus was being hewn for the widow. ‘A pedestal to support the twin sarcophagi was erected in the tomb. Its beight is about seven feet and a half above the ‘floor cf the crypt. It is ten feet and fen inches in length and breadth. .Each sarcophagus ‘weighs about eight tons. All of the exposed faces are highly Polished. The color is a dark red, varia- gated in spow. On the sarcophagus in- terded for Mrs. Grant there is the name in bronze, ‘Julia D.
