14 SUBURBAN NEWS BROOKLAND. ‘The varfous churches are making preparations for the usual Christmas entertainments. The Church of Onur Savior will have the regular children’s ser- vice on the evening of December 28, after which Sweetmeats and presents will be distributed. The Queenstown Baptist Church anticipates an excep- tionally fine entertainment, in which due homage will be paid “Old Santy,"" and gifts presented. St. Anthony’s Sunday school will hold its fes- tivities at the town ball the evening of the 29th. A feature of the program will be a short play, Seeing Santa Claus,” which will be preceded and followed by recitations, songs, dances and instru- mental music. At the conelusion of the entertain- ment the usual candies and presents will be dis- tributed by Santa Claus himself. The Union Sun- day school, the Brookland M. E. Church and the Lutheran Sunday school are also making prepara- tions for hours of pleasure during the Christmas holidays. * "At the last meeting of the Soldiers’ Home Tem- perance Union the program presented included vo- cal solos by Miss Ross and Miss Valk, mandolin end guitar duet selections by Miss Stoddard and Miss Bald and recitations by Miss Bald, together with several fine numbers by the home string or- chestra.
