Willard, president of the American Air Power Company, to come to New York and witness a trial of the motors. "He declined doing so, however, for the reason, he states, that as the law required a test of the metors to be made here and not in New York, to determine whether they were in all respects a proper and satisfactory motive power for this city, he could not see what was to be accom- plished by witnessing a trial of them there. A representative of the District govern- ment, however, having gone to New York to inspect their operation in that city, Mr. Kane stated that it would now seem as if their trial in New York was to cut some figure in determining whether or not their use was to be permitted here, and Mr. Wil- lard having renewed his invitation, he has gone over there to witness their operation and inspect the plant. —_.—_—_ Personally Conducted Tour via Penn- sylvania Railread to Cresson Spri Round-trip iickets good going on 10:50 a.m. train, August 28, and valid for return vaithin ten days. including one day’s board at Mountain House, $8.00. ° _—__—_— THE COURTS. In addition to the entrance fees of the knights $75 will be added, the whole to be divided among the five leading knights. The tilt- ing is to begin promptly at noon, and from that time on the grounds will be filled with brave knights cantering here and there all over the place. Heralds and judges will be very much in evidence, too, and the whole scene will be a lively one in the ex- treme. After the contest a dress ball is to take place. Here is where the “fair ladies” of the knights will shine in all their spien- dom—the whole event making one of the most successful in the history of the sur- rounding country. At night, to make a fitting end to the day, a magnificent disp'ay of fireworks has been arranged for. The steaner was well filled and all with great expectations for the day's pleasure. On Thursday, and again Sunday, the run will be made. There are any number of things to make u pleas- ant day at the Point. Foremost among the attractions should be mentioned the fishing and crabbing. One cannot improve on these, no matter where on the river shore one goes. Then the salt water bathing is in itself a feature. The sail of four hours is a delightful one, cool breezes and brac- ing air giving one an appetite long before the Point is in sight. In the cafe on the boat excellent dinners are served, good hotel accommodation may be had on the grounds. There is everything at Chapel Point to contribute to an enjoyabie outing, and each time the run is made it is the merriest sort of a party that is entertained with the almost numberless ‘Will appreciate suchi@ table a’ hote as that served at Chévy hase Inn.
