Trustee Wilson was down for an address, but was unable to attend, so Miss Westcott, the principal, gave a short talk to the school and read a letter from Mr. Wilson, in which he expressed his re- gret in being unable to attend and in which he congratulated the schcol upon their past achievements and the honors and prestige they had won for Georgetown. Mr. Thomas Holcomb, president of the graduating class, presented Miss Westcott with a beautiful basket of flowers, the gift of the class, for the faithful work she had dene for them during their four years’ of igh school life. The most important event of the exer- cises was the presentation of a gold medal to Captain Smoot, of prize Company “‘H,” by Second Lieut. Taussig, in behalf of the company.
