Scores of wheelmen who have five or ten dollars’ worth of ili-will toward the mem- bers of the bicycle squad will probably be glad to hear that Policeman Duvall, a member of the squad, is to be hauled up before the trial board because he offended Hope Darneille, the District paymaster. The alleged offense was committed during a discussion growing out of the arrest of Joseph Darneille, the paymaster’s brother, for alleged scorching. Joseph Darneille ts an inspector in the employ of the Poto- mao Electric Tight Company, and his ar- rest was made while he was on a tour of inspection. When the case reached the Police Court it was nolle prossed. Then he was not satisfied, but wanted to prefer charges against the officer, and he now Commissioners Striving to Frame a Proper Regulation. The Commissioners are still puzzling themselves over a proper police regulation which will permit hucksters to cry their wares and not annoy the citizens. This matter was called to the attention of the Commissioners several days 2go by a dele- gation of hucksters, who complained be- cause they had been arrested under an old ordinance. At the time the Commissioners were impressed with the arguments they advanced in favor of crying their wares and took the matter under consideration fer the purpuse cf agreeing up2n some regulation which would remedy the evil. Up to this time nothing substantial has been considered.
