Chief O'Mara said in the letter that he had just learned this week that Ward was in this city befure he came there, and said he would be released from the Pittsburg work- hovse yesterday. The description of some of the jewelry convinced Inspector Hol- linberger that the robber of Mrs. Buck was in custody, and he wired Chief O'Mara to hold the prisoner a few days longer. fully identified the jewelry. Lacy had several conversations with him. Like other people of hig class, he was blowing hot and cold at the game time, so thought by the local detectives that he is an up-to-date crook. He is more intelli- gent than the average man of his class, and is well educated. Although he js bright and intelligent, he wears old clothes, giving vestigations concerning the prisoner, and he learned that he was employed about the railroad depot about the time the robbery was committed. It is thought that the offi- cer will return with the prisoner and jew- elry about Saturday. SS END OF THE SESSION. Convention of Woman's. Foreign Mis- sionary Socicty Adjourns.
