14 THE EVENING STAR, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4, 1896-14 PAGES, ALEXANDRIA AFFAIRS Reinacher Lecture Course for the Season. The Local Notes of General Interest to Residents and Taxpayers—Told in Brief Paragraphs. Rev. Hartley Carmichael, D.D., rector of St. Paul's Church, Richmond, Va., will de- liver the second of the Reinacher lecture course at the Virginia Theological Semi- nary Tuesday, the 15th instant. Dr. Car- michael is well known, and his lecture will certainly be a very interesting one. These lectures are open to the public, and many Alexandrians avail themselves of the op- pertunity of hearing some of the most eminent divines in the American church. This course was established about three years ago through the generosity of Mr. George A. Reinacher of Bait'more, who gave the sum of $5,000 for its support. The con- ditions of the gift are that “the faculty shall choose the lecturers, who may be clergy or Ja ty, at home or abroad, either in or out of the Protestant Episcopal Church.” Among the eminent divines who have de- livered lectures are Bishops Randolph, Sat- terlee, Huntington, Lindsay, Currie, Grammar, end ot ire Last Night.
