But the boy was surely in the water, and that he was burned cannot be ques- tioned. He could not have got ashore at a better place than Indian Head, how- ever, for there he fell into the hands of good people. Lieutenant Mason, who is on duty there, is one of the noblest men In the service, and he gave the hoy as good attention as if he had been his own ehild. His wet garments were removed and dry ones put on, and the kind-hearted officer dressed the wounds and made the sufferer comfortable. To Lieutenant Mason the suffering hoy related his experience, and told of how bers could do so. All the delegates were requested to assist the committee on decorations in requesting the business firms along the line of march to make a decorative display on Labor day, and a resolution was passed asking the daily papers of the city to publish the fact that the Central Labor Union desires very much that there may be some public recog- nition of Labor day. It was announced that the firm having the contract for making the uniforms had extended the time for which measurements may be taken two weeks, and it was hoped that all who have not yet done so will leave their orders for a uniform with the proper parties before the meeting of the conference two weeks hence.
