Local Notes of All Sorts From Across Rock Creck Bridge Told Briefy. Mrs. Annie Theresea McGirr died Wed- “nesday evening at her residence, 2811 Dum- barton avenue, after an illness of some weeks. Death was caused by a tumor, the location of which prevented an operation. She was the wife of Mr. Peter McGirr, and enjoyed a large circle of acquaintances. She was a prominent .nember of ‘Trinity Church and a member of the Lezion of Loyal Women. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning from Trinity Catholic Church, with a solemn mass of requiem. Tne Legion of Loyal Women will attend the funeral, and the pall-bearers will be friends of the deceased. Policy Arrest. An important policy arrest was made yesterday morning by Policeman Matt E4- wards. The prisoner is Frank Nickall, col- ored, aged fifty-one, who gave his occu- pation as that of a merchant. The police suspected him of having dealings with the policy firms, and arrested him near the entrance of the Aqueduct bridge. When searched at the station there were found on him $26.90 in cash and some papers. He will be held to answer to the charge of promoting policy. Faneral Yesterday. Mrs. Susannah Brewer, the mother of Mr. Henry Brewer of the surveyor’s office of the District, who died the other di was buried yesterday from her late resi- dence, 3318 O street. The deceased was the widow of Dr. Brewer, and had reached | the ripe old age of ninety years. Mr. New- ton Brewer, Miss Mary Brewer, Mrs. Thos. So much ty terested in the case was Mr. Cammack that he made morning and evening calls on Prosecuting Attorney Pugh, and not find- ing the prosecuting attorney at home, he related his tale of woe to the prosecutor’ father, Senator Pugh.
