10 rr ASE XANDRIA AFFAIRS A #_.fl Flare-Up at the Corporation Court. Yn the corporation court yesterday during the trial of the case of Lawrence Bright, ** and while Mr. John H. Greene, counsel for the prisoner, was speaking, Police Officer ‘Weston Atkinson, who was sitting near the clerk's desk, made a remark, the purport of which, however, was not heard by the © court officers. Mr. Greene thereupon turn- ed upon the officer and censured the police force generally for interfering in matters in which they were not interested. He was proceeding with some warmth when Judge Norton told him that too much time was Eeing consumed in the matter, and request- ed Mr. Greene to confine his remarks to the points in the case. Here the matter ended, although several of the oificers be- came very much excited over it. Funeral of Mr. Washington.
