Mr, William Read, who, in behalf of the Natioxal Memorial Association of Boston, is pushing the project for the placing of a memorial tablet on Park Street Church, Boston, to commemorate the national an- them, “America,” saw the President, mem- bers of Congress and other public men yes- terday for the purpose of interesting them in the movement. It is proposed to defray the expenses of making and dedicating the tablet by popular subscriptions of 25 and 50 cents, and copies of the petition have been circulated among public men, so as to get them to head the lists. “America” was first sung in Park Street Church July 4, 1832.
