10 THE EVENING STAR, MONDAY, MAY 25, 1896-TWELVE PAGES. CONTROL OF CHILDREN. The Point at Issue in the Bangs Di- vorce Case. Clara Cecilia Bangs, the wife of David C. Bangs, a well-known local elocutionist, to- day applied for divorce. The papers in the case, at the request of Mrs. Bangs’ attor- ney, Mr. Frank T. Browning, were withheld from publication, but a restraining order, issued in the case by Judge Cox, upon Mrs. | Bangs’ petition, enjoins her husband from in any way interfering with or disturbing her possession of their child, Roscoe Niles Bangs, until the further order of the court. A rule, returnable June 15 next, requir Mr. Bangs to show cause then why the re- straining order shall not be made perma- nen Mrs. Bangs’ petition is the sequel to one filed by Mr. Bangs January 4, 1894, in which he prayed the court to grant him a divorce. ‘The papers in that case were also withheld from ation, and the case is still pend- ing, Mrs. Bangs, it said, never having been served with a summ: to answer. couple have two children, a boy and the father being in possession of the girl and the boy being in the custody of the mother. Each are said to be extremely anxious to have the possession and control ef both children, and it is understood that ecch will make a determined effort in the ecurts to secure the custody and control of both of the little ones. —— Ex-Officer Auldridge Dead.
