Information has been received here that Mr. John Nelson, a former resident of P George's county, Md., not farfrom the Dis- trict Hine, committed sutcide Christmas day ) by shooting himself through the head, near Leonardtown, Md., where he and his family have lived for some time past. A rumor war circulated In the neighborhood where the sad affair oceurred that Mr. Nelson was murdere:t, but a careful Investigation by the proper legal authorities satisfied them that the case was clearly one of suicide, ard it was decided that an inquest was unneces- sary. Mr. Nelson leaves a widew and eight children. The large barn near Suithind, Md., which Messrs. Yost Brothers of Anacostia and Washington contracted f® build for Mr. Albert N. The marriage of Mr. John S. Farr and Miss Sadie Owens, both of Benning, D. C., took place yesterday morning at the rectory of Emmanuel P.‘E. Ciurch, on Maple avenue, Anacostia. North, broth- er of the groom, at the manse of the Garden Memorlal Church, on Minnesota avenue, Anacostia. Only a few very intimate friends of the contracting parties were present. The children of the Sunday school of the Anacostia Baptist Church, Rev. H. T. 5: enson, pastor, will have their Chrisimas festival at the church to night. A feature of the exercises will be a visit by “Santa Claus." The exercises will be in charge of the superintendent of the school, Mr. Chas. R. Yr, who will be assisted by Miss Em- ma Davison, the organist. The East Washington. Heights Baptist Church, of which Rev. The Methodist Church was crowded and many were unable to be seated Wednesday night’ the occasion being the celebration of Christmas by the Sunday school of the church. The exercises were in charge of Mr. J. M. Thorne, superintendent, and opened with an’ organ voltatary by Miss Mary H. Thorne, followed by an opening chorus. “Rejoice, Rejoice,” by the school; mvocation by Rev. A. J. Porter.
