Instrumental solos were rendered by Misses Shaffer and Briscoe, and a vocal solo was sung by Miss Alexandria Melbourne. A spirited debate teok place upon the question, viz: Resolved, That steam |s more beneficial to man than electricity. The spring booth, at which Miss Elsie Schneider presided, was draped in pink and white, with occasional patches of green here and there. Here confections and fancy articles were displayed. Miss Jeanne Dalglish and Miss Lottie Fillmore seemed to add two more rosebuds to the large bank of flowers of every variety that composed the summer booth. The most novel booth was autumn, the market, where vege- tables and fruits of all kinds could be had at reasonable prices. Golden pumpkins, tempting celery, peaches, radishes, cran- berries, potatoes and cabbage peeped amid the branches of rich autumnal tints. This artistically arranged stand was in charge of Miss Mary Burr and Miss Sidney Small. Winter, the ice cream booth, presided over by Miss N. Small, was prettily decorated with pines and cedar, whose branches glis- tened with snow and frost. The attendance was good, and it is probable quite’a sum will be realized, which will be devoted to church purposes.
