AN Abcut the Election of a Brigadier General—A Child Rup Over by a Sleigh. To say that the officers of the companies composing the third regiment, Virginia volunteers, and those of some of the other regiments, are indignant at the outcome of the recent election of the brigade com- = LEGITIMATE RACING. License Granted the Virginia Jockey Clyb, The National Jockey Club has granted @ license to the Virginia Jockey Club to corduct a meeting at the St. Asaph Junc- tion track, near Alexandria. It is believed that the meeting will not begin until the 18th of March instead of the 4th, as was intended. The prospects for the coming meeting are excellent and the quality of the sport will be the best. The most prom- inent horsemen in the east have written either promising to come or asking for information regarding accommodations.
