It came back thirty years after its capture by a scuthern officer from a Maine lieutenant, to its rightful owners. Mrs, M. Longfellow O'Donoghue, a niece of the poet Longfellow, made the address intrusting the sword to the society's care. Accompanying the Ittle address which Mrs. O'Donoghue made was an original poem of her own bearing upon the inckient. On behalf of the society Dr. A. Patten moved that a vote of thanks be extended to the donor, Major Hill, through Mrs. O’Don- oghue, which was done. President T. ¥. Phillips occupied the chair AMUSEMENTS.
