The Marine Band is to be in at- tendance. “The Annual” made its appearance during last week and proved an immediate suc- cess. It is a volume of 100 pages, bound in blue, with silver lettering on the cover, which presents a neat and attractive ap- pearance. The book, containing a history of the Central Schoci and complete de- scriptions of all the features relating to the parent institution, is a valuable souvenir, and thus far the supply has been insuffi- cient to meet the demand. The enterprise was conducted by W. W. Underwood and E. B. Wilkins, as editors, and W. A Page as business manager. It has been de-ided to hold the commence- ment exercises of the Business High School on the evening of June 20, in the exhibition hall of the Central School, on O street, be- tween 6th and 7th streets northwest. The speaker of the evening ts to be Mr. Paul T. Bowen of the board of school trustees, al- though it is expected that other addresses, as well as a varied and attractive program, will be rendered. The otlicers of the graduating class of the Pusiness High School are Thomas Grant, president; Norman North, treasurer; Miss Carroll, secvetary, and the following vice presidents: Section A, H. Hopkins, a member of the first- year class of the Central High School, has composed a catchy waltz, entitled, “High School Girls.” It is now in the hands of @ publisher and promises to become popular. The first-year class at the various schools will close its session for the year on Mon- day, June 18, the second year on Tuesday, Jvpe 19, and the third and fourth years on Thursday, June 21. Capt. Seward Webb's stock farms, Shel- burne, near Burlington, Vt, Wednesday morning at half-past 10 o'clock, with twenty teams of four horses each, which will be moved forward by special traim until wanted. Vanderbilt, 0. H. Belmont, Nathaniel Thayer of Boston and ex-Secretary W. C. Whitney, Dr. Webb himself handling reins the last three miles of the trip. The total distance to be covered is 318 miles. The first night will be spent at Poughkeep- sie, the second at Troy, and the third at Rutland, the party reaching Shelburne Farms on Saturday, June 9, at 6 p. m. Mr. Nelson Brown and Col. Edward Mor- reil of Philadelphia, who ran the New York and Philadelphia coach, will also be of the party. The guard will be Graham, late guard on the Philadelphia coach, and om the coach out of Pau, France, last winter.
